Household Feelings Board
Offer an optional way to share a feeling, intensity, need, privacy preference, or time to check back.
Clinician-created · specialist review requiredFor clinician-facilitated use
This is a professional resource, not a child-facing online service. A licensed clinician or other qualified adult must determine suitability, explain and adapt the activity, and supervise its use. Do not direct a child to access this webpage independently or enter client information.
The full-resolution WebP includes print-safe margins and should be downloaded by an adult professional. Read the guidance below before using the page.
How to use it
- Choose whether to add a feeling, intensity, need, privacy marker, or check-back time.
- Use words, pictures, weather, color, or unsure; you may also pass.
- Place only information you are comfortable having household members see.
- Move or remove your marker when you want.

Reflection prompts
- Which kinds of information feel okay to share on a common board?
- How should others respond to a privacy or later marker?
- Where can someone ask for support more privately?

Facilitator guidance
Participation must be voluntary, and adults should model consent and non-interrogation. Place the board where it does not expose sensitive information to visitors, siblings, caregivers, cameras, or others who should not see it.
Adaptations & accessibility
- Use personal mini-boards or private envelopes instead of a shared display.
- Provide picture symbols, movable magnets, AAC-compatible choices, and an unsure marker.
- Offer a neutral energy or weather check-in that does not require naming feelings.
Professional-use review
Enhanced child-safeguarding, privacy, family-systems, and licensed-clinician review required before use.
