New Jersey uses the supervised LAC credential before independent LPC practice and requires board-approved supervision evidence for the experience pathway.
LAMFT · LMFT
New Jersey separately licenses associate and independent marriage and family therapists, and an LAMFT needs an approved supervision plan before providing counseling.
CSW · LSW · LCSW
New Jersey has bachelor, master, and clinical social-work credentials; independent clinical practice is associated with the LCSW rather than the CSW or LSW alone.
Psychologist · Three-Year Supervised Permit
New Jersey licenses psychologists, uses a current three-year supervised permit rather than the obsolete one-year permit, and participates in PSYPACT.
LBA · LABA
New Jersey now licenses behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts under rules effective May 6, 2024, with a jurisprudence requirement and time-limited setting exemptions.

New Jersey practice operations require profession-specific entity review, location-based telehealth authority, privacy and breach screening, labor compliance, program-licensure analysis, and separate Medicaid enrollment and MCO contracting.
