How to use it

  1. Name one problem that may have practical options; choose a smaller part if needed.
  2. Brainstorm several possibilities before judging them.
  3. Compare likely benefits, costs, support needs, and safety.
  4. Choose a small experiment, then return later to review or change course.

Reflection prompts

  • Which parts are within your influence and which are not?
  • What support or information would make the next step easier?
  • Does this need problem solving, emotional support, or both?

Facilitator guidance

Help distinguish a solvable practical problem from grief, injustice, danger, or an experience that primarily needs validation and support. Do not pressure action when pausing is safer.

Adaptations & accessibility

  • Use sticky notes that can be moved between steps.
  • Complete only the first two stations in one sitting.
  • Add a support person at each decision point.
