Is This Thought Helpful Right Now?
Notice how useful a thought may be in a particular moment without labeling the thought as good or bad.
Clinical review requiredFull-resolution WebP artwork with print-safe margins. Review the guidance below before use.
How to use it
- Choose one thought card at a time.
- Place it under helpful right now, not helpful right now, or unsure.
- Consider the situation, timing, safety, and what the thought leads you to do.
- Move any card if your view changes.

Reflection prompts
- When might this thought be useful?
- When might it get in the way?
- What wording would fit the situation better?

Facilitator guidance
Keep the sorting contextual and collaborative. A thought may move between groups depending on circumstances, and uncertainty is a valid outcome.
Adaptations & accessibility
- Sort fewer cards at one time.
- Read cards aloud or pair each with an icon.
- Use personal examples only with permission.
