How to use it

  1. Look through the cards and choose values that feel relevant now; passing is welcome.
  2. Sort them into important now, important later, unsure, or not mine.
  3. Define selected values in your own words and notice where values may conflict.
  4. Choose one small, flexible action if you want to experiment with a value.

Reflection prompts

  • Which value feels chosen rather than expected by others?
  • Where do two important values pull in different directions?
  • What conditions or support would help you act on one value?

Facilitator guidance

Frame values as ongoing chosen directions, not moral rankings, identities, or goals already achieved. Attend to cultural, relational, and safety context when translating a value into action.

Adaptations & accessibility

  • Use a smaller set of cards or read them aloud.
  • Add, rename, combine, or reject values.
  • Sort with icons, objects, or a digital drag-and-drop format.

Professional-use review

Standard licensed-clinician and cultural-humility review required before use.
