Between-Session Practice
A collaborative template for trying one small step and reviewing what happened.
Clinician-created · facilitator review requiredFor clinician-facilitated use
This is a professional resource, not a child-facing online service. A licensed clinician or other qualified adult must determine suitability, explain and adapt the activity, and supervise its use. Do not direct a child to access this webpage independently or enter client information.
The full-resolution WebP includes print-safe margins and should be downloaded by an adult professional. Read the guidance below before using the page.
How to use it
- Agree on one specific practice and why it matters to the client.
- Make the first step small enough for the current week.
- Name likely barriers and available support.
- At the next session, review what happened without grading success or failure.

Reflection prompts
- What made the practice easier or harder?
- Should the plan continue, change, pause, or be replaced?

Facilitator guidance
Use collaboratively and connect the task to the client's goals and context. Avoid assigning practice as punishment, proof of motivation, or a substitute for addressing barriers.
Adaptations & accessibility
- Use drawing, audio, or a phone reminder instead of writing.
- Track one attempt rather than a daily streak.
- Plan environmental or interpersonal support.
Professional-use review
Required local customization plus licensed-clinician and accessibility review before use, including branding, contact, documentation, and any policy-dependent instructions.
