How to use it
- Choose the purpose and decide whether a ritual is wanted at all.
- Select participants, place, objects, words, food, music, silence, or other elements that fit your context.
- Plan access, consent, privacy, environmental and fire safety, a backup, and aftercare.
- Revise, postpone, keep private, or cancel the plan at any time.

Reflection prompts
- Whose meanings, needs, and choices should guide this plan?
- What backup or aftercare would make the observance more workable?

Facilitator guidance
Follow the participants' cultural and spiritual leadership and avoid borrowing sacred practices without appropriate guidance. Confirm consent, accessibility, site rules, fire/environmental safety, food considerations, privacy, participation choices, and support afterward.
Adaptations & accessibility
- Plan a secular, private, virtual, sensory-accessible, or very brief observance.
- Use symbolic alternatives to flame, food, sound, gathering, or travel.
- Consult an invited cultural or spiritual support person with participant consent.
Professional-use review
Enhanced licensed grief-specialist plus cultural/spiritual, accessibility, and site-safety review required before use. The worksheet does not authorize practices, locations, fire, food, or environmental impacts.
