Worry Monster Pages
Use an imaginary character to explore a worry with curiosity and distance.
Clinical review requiredFull-resolution WebP artwork with print-safe margins. Review the guidance below before use.
How to use it
- Choose a monster activity: feed it a note, change its size, ask it questions, or imagine what it needs.
- Draw, write, or tell only as much as you want.
- You may keep the worry private, change activities, or stop.

Reflection prompts
- What does your monster want you to notice?
- When does it seem bigger, smaller, or different?
- What might help you feel supported while it is around?

Facilitator guidance
Let the child define the metaphor and avoid interpreting the monster for them. Do not imply that worries must be defeated, discarded, or made to disappear.
Adaptations & accessibility
- Use a puppet, clay figure, collage, or storytelling instead of drawing.
- Explore a fictional character's worry rather than a personal one.
- Offer a blank shape or weather metaphor instead of a monster.
